NAVAROO v. FLORIDA AUTO RENTAL, et al. $3,600,000 – Verdict
Wrongful death and automobile accident. This case included action against a rental car agency and a defendant driver by the deceased plaintiff/passenger after a hit-and-run accident.
GARCIA v. DANNY CONSTRUCTION $2,300,000 – Settlement
Automobile accident. This case included action against the truck driver and owner for leg injuries sustained by the garage owner (plaintiff) when he was pinned against the garage wall by the defendant’s vehicle.
RODRIGUEZ v. GONZALEZ-ABREU, MD, CAC CLINIC, WESTCHESTER HOSPITAL $2,000,000 – Settlement
Medical malpractice. The hospital pathologist failed to properly diagnose urethral penile cancer from a biopsy specimen submitted from a meatotomy procedure. 10 months later, the plaintiff had to undergo a total splenectomy, and, due to cancer’s metastasis, cancer became terminal.
BRUYN v. OTIS ELEVATOR, et al. $1,400,000 – Settlement
Products liability and forklift-mast collapse. This case included action against the manufacturer, designer, distributor, and seller of the forklift and mast, which collapsed, throwing the plaintiff to the ground and rendering him an incomplete paraplegic.
TIGER v. SHAFEY $1,700,000.00 - Settlement
Medical Malpractice. Failure to diagnose arteriovenous malformation (AVM) rendering 20 year old plaintiff a paraplegic.
CORTES v. DR. MARTINEZ and DR. CABRERA $1,630,000.00 - Verdict
Medical Malpractice. Pathologist and general Surgeon failed to properly diagnose breast cancer from a biopsy specimen submitted following a suspicious mammogram. Eighteen months later on a follow-up mammogram, and biopsy, Plaintiff, a 61 year old female, was found to have serious breast cancer.
IRIZARRY v. TRIPLE PAVING $1,500,000.00 - Settlement
Auto/Truck Accident. Plaintiff, 35 year old male, construction worker’s leg was severely broken, requiring several surgeries with hardware installation, when he was pinned by pick-up truck door after an automobile/dump truck accident.
ANDRACA v. PLUS MEDICAL RENTALS $1,200,000.00 - Settlement. Policy Limits
Automobile Accident. Husband and wife severely injured while riding as passengers in a van when defendant driver lost control after tire blow-out.
BARRERA v. CAMEJO $1,000.000.00 - Settlement
Automobile Accident. Action by plaintiff driver against defendant driver as well as rental car agency for leg and internal injuries.
GALIN v. ALLIED BUILDING SPECIALTIES $1,000,000.00 - Settlement
Pedestrian/Truck Accident. Plaintiff, 16 year old high school student struck his head on a “California type” mirror protruding from side of a truck illegally parked partially on sidewalk at Boca Raton Community High School. Plaintiff hit mirror, then struck back of his head on sidewalk causing Plaintiff to go into a catastrophic type state even though no organic brain injury could be found.
